The Department of Economics offers BA Economics Honours with specialization in Finance. The course builds up the theoretical knowledge of economic principles with microeconomics,macroeconomics and econometrics.The specialization along with theoretical knowledge aims at providing a balanced mix of foundational studies and specialised knowledge. The students undergoing the course are expected to develop an understanding of financial system of the economy, investment and portfolio management, financial accounting. The combination of Economics with Finance is one of the most sought after course globally as it has high end career opportunities with attractive salary packages along with skills for personal finance management.
Ms. PRVEENA T RAM joined in the Department of Economics in the year 2021 and now is the Head of the Department. She earned her M.A Degree in Economics from Vimala College, Calicut and cleared UGC NET in 2011. She worked as Assistant Professor in Economics at in AL Ameen ENGINEERING, College and also in PROFESSORS ACADEMY OF ENGINEERING AS LECTURER
