PRDS College of Arts and Science, which started functioning in 2016 at Amarapuram, is an aided college affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. The college, managed by Sreekumara Gurudeva Educational and Charitable Trust (SECT), is committed to pursue excellence in higher education, to empower the students with professional competence and to nurture the enthusiasts' skills in sports and extra- curricular activities. A vibrant Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) functions at the college to equip it for accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The college offers 4 undergraduate programmes and one post graduate programme. The Department of Commerce won the second rank at the undergraduate level in 2020. It also won the first and the seventh ranks at the post graduate level in 2022 and the eighth and the ninth ranks in 2023. The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of the college has instituted meritorious awards for the degree students of each year who win the highest marks in the University Examinations. There has also been a significant rise in the pass percentage of our students in the University Examinations over the years. The Women Cell of the college as well as the various clubs constituted here ensure the holistic development of the students. Having conducted community service, personality development programmes, demonstrations, awareness classes and regular and special camps, the NSS unit of the college plays a pivotal role to make the volunteers responsible and productive citizens of the country.
